On June 25th, 2024, the World Rural Tourism Council (WRTC) and Asia-Pacific Rural Tourism Alliance (APRTA) Second Quarterly Business (Academic) Interaction Meeting was held in the International Conference Hall of the Rural Tourism School, the World Rural Tourism Town (the permanent venue of the World Rural Tourism Congress) in Wuxing District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China. He Guangwei, Chairman of the WRTC, Zhang Junsai, Executive Chairman of the WRTC, Peter Semone, Vice Chairman of the WRTC and Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Region, Endalkachew Sime, Vice Chairman of the WRTC and Chairman of the African Region, Scott Supernaw, Vice Chairman of the WRTC and Chairman of the American Region, He Li, Executive Secretary-General of the WRTC, deputy secretaries-general of the WRTC, secretaries-general of each region, presidents and vice presidents, secretaries-general of the China Region Sub-Chapters, and all members of the WRTC and the APRTA attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Gan Yongfu, Vice President and Secretary-General of the WRTC and Chairman of the APRTA.
The conference was divided into two sessions, namely business communication and academic interaction. The business communication mainly consisted of two parts: work report and regional exchange. Mr. He Li, the Executive Secretary General reported the completion of the work in the second quarter this year, and made work arrangement in the coming third quarter. The secretaries-general of the Asia-Pacific, European, African and American regions exchanged their business work. Endalkachew Sime, the Vice Chairman of the WRTC and Chairman of the African region, Ratish Kumar, the Deputy Secretary General and Regional Secretary of the Asia-Pacific Region, and Carlos Vogler, the Deputy Secretary General and Regional Secretary of the European Region, respectively conducted academic exchanges with the theme of Customizing Rural Tourism.
Mr. Gan Yongfu, the Stationed Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the WRTC, summarized the meeting with "old friends, new platforms, closer communication; old members, new activities, more diverse brand promotion; old academic committee, new thinking, more innovative academic exchanges". He looked forward to working together to effectively promote the work in the third quarter, enriching product formats, expanding markets, and working together for the prosperity of the WRTC, so as to create a better future for the members of the WRTC.
